Family Enterprise of the Year Award (FEYA)
Established in 1986, the Family Enterprise of the Year Award (FEYA) is given annually by the Family Enterprise Xchange (FEX) to recognize, celebrate, and promote the achievements of Canadian family businesses and the considerable contribution they make to both their local communities and our national economy.
Each year business families across Canada are nominated and recognized at local FEYA celebrations. Each local recipient is then considered for the National FEX Family Enterprise of the Year Award selected by a volunteer selection committee.
This award is unique among business awards in Canada, as it does not only focus on traditional business metrics. Instead, the selection committee also looks at how well the family enterprise integrates what we know to be best practices that benefit the business, the family and their communities. The National FEYA recipient demonstrates significant capabilities in these regards and is an example of excellence and what is integral to Canada’s economic future- healthy family enterprises.
Business is important but legacies are created by people and families. FEX plays a vital role in assisting families to create legacies and create the future of our Canada. The work that you are doing is more important than you can ever realize. Thank you.

This year, the National FEYA Gala planned for May 26, during Symposium 2020 has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Details regarding the remaining local FEYA celebrations and the announcement of the 2020 Family Enterprise of the Year recipient are coming soon.
